I can’t believe it’s been a year since I moved to Korea. And now, it’s already time to say goodbye. Yesterday was officially my last day at work, and my classroom and desk have been cleaned out for the next teacher.
It does feel a little unreal, because I will be traveling to Thailand before heading back to the U.S.. But the goodbyes in the office are real, and I still have to move out of my apartment completely before getting on the plane to go to Thailand. I haven’t left Korea officially yet, but when I return from Thailand, everything will be different.
Over the past year I have had a lot of good experiences in Korea, and I was fortunate enough to be able to visit multiple cities during my weekends or vacations. Of course, there are still some things I would like to cross off my bucket list, but that is just another reason for me to come back and visit again.
I am looking forward to going home and spending some quality time with my friends and family, but there are many things I will miss about Korea. I will miss the friends I have made here, being able to walk everywhere, the food, and being able to practice Korean on a daily basis.
Even though this adventure is ending, I will forever have the memories from it. And this experience will help guide me through the new adventures to come! Next step, finding a new job, which is an adventure in itself. Wish me luck!
