As 2019 comes to a close, I am reminded of the fact that it is indeed the end of a decade as well. In 2009, I was in 9th grade, and didn’t really contemplate the significance of the end of the time frame. So this will be the completion of my second decade in life and the first one I will reflect on.
Over the past 10 years I accomplished a lot, which is mainly due to my age and where I was at with schooling. I graduated high school and college, had my first full time job, moved to a new country and visited 3 new ones. Most of this actually happened in the past year, but even though it took me a while to explore beyond my boundaries, I’m on a roll now.
I would say that in the past 10 years, the last year actually taught me the most. I learned how to be independent, not only because I was living on my own for the first time, but because I lived in a new place without any family or friends nearby. And even though I lost something and someone very important to me last year, I also gained a lot of wonderful things and experiences. I made new friends that I will have for a lifetime, began a new journey of learning and traveling, and started a new way of life of loving myself for who I am. It will always be a process, but it’s worth the dedication.
The past 3 months have also brought a lot of changes for me. Moving home, starting new jobs, and figuring out what’s in store for the next year to come. If you’ve been with me on my journey so far, I hope we can continue into the new decade together as well.
And as always, thank you for reading. Stay safe and stay happy. See you next year. 읽어줘서 고마워요! 안전하고 행복하게 지내라요. 다음 년에 봐요.
